Rightman, CMO see lower costs in new partnership – RIGHTMAN CO, a Thai event organiser, yesterday partnered with listed company CMO Group with the aim of reducing operating costs at CMO by at least 10 per cent while seeking the possibility of a backdoor listing for Rightman on the Stock Exchange of Thailand in the future. KTIS
KTIS reported 6M16 net profit of Bt143.41mn. Its ethanol business revenue grew 18.8% from last year and the sugar business also contributed a higher net profit backed by higher sugar price. Comment: We wonder aloud how much better sugar co’s will perform next year given that sugar prices have improved and the drought that hurt them in the past 12 months has passed. YoY #’s could look half decent

Fire, explosion at PTT Phenol factory fast contained – A FIRE broke out after a 500cubicmetre wastewater-treatment tank in the PTT Phenol Co factory in Rayong’s Hemaraj Eastern Industrial Estate exploded early yesterday, resulting in one slight injury. (The Nation, 23/08/16)

UREKA reported 2Q16 revenue of Bt82mn. It expects 2016 revenue to be better on selling price adjustment and cost control. It plans to expand its plastic industry and industrial machinery.
