Comment: This could very well be the end of JAS, and TRUE is going to suffer as well.

AIE
Confirms start-up in June – AIE confirms its expansion of biodiesel to 900,000 liters/day will commence operations in June 2015. The company expects to close a deal with business partners soon. (Khao Hoon, 28/04/15)

AJD
Management expects sales revenue to rise 50% YoY in 2015 with profit to double YoY due to higher sales of its set-top box for digital TV. (Post Today, 28/04/15)
Comment: A quick look @ the numbers show that while yes there a lot of potential in the market because the set-top boxes penetration rates are still very low but distribution and the coupons scheme for it have been pathetic in its implementation.

Comment: How DELTA was able to perform this well over the past 4 years I still do not know/understand, so a slap on the face for missing this one.

Thailand’s IPO Frenzy

Want to feel like a rock star investor? Get into the small IPO’s. Anyone who was able to get IPO’s this year has been feeling that way, excluding IPO’s where commercial bank’s were the underwriters (here’s looking at you KBANK and SCB). The basic framework for IPO’s performing well on their first day hasn’t changed, if the market cap, free float are small enough, first day returns were and are likely to continue to be amazing given the market environment.

On the flip side, is this really a good thing? Shouldn’t IPO prices remain somewhat constant on their first day? If we’re seeing such high positive first day movements then the investment bankers aren’t doing their jobs properly on behalf of their clients (the listing companies) and are mispricing everything thereby missing a lot of potential capital..meh as if people care…

AGE

AGE plans to generate 100MW from biomass power plant in 5 years. It expects to invest Bt7bn. Although revenue from the electricity business will be lower than from the coal business, net profit is expected to be similar. (Khao Hoon, 28/05/14)

Comment: Well they are going to have to raise debt to quite high levels if they want to pull this off, current equity levels are THB 1.3 bn and they only have some 9MW in the pipeline via a joint project

AIE

AIE expects a better performance in 2Q14 supported by an increase in the palm oil proportion of biodiesel from 4% to 7%. It is confident that 2014 net profit will be better than 2013 and maintains its 2014 revenue target at Bt5.5. It expects to pay a dividend on 2014. (Khao Hoon, 28/05/14)

APCO

APCO adjusts revenue target to Bt500mn or +50% YoY from 20%YoY. Net profit is expected to grow more than revenue because it has increased its sales channels and has placed greater focus on high margin products. It expects a net profit margin of 35% in 2014 from 22% in 2013. (Khao Hoon, 28/05/14)

Comment: The numbers alone just look wonderful, it looks like they are a skin care product manufacturer.

BCP seeking new ventures – State-majority-owned refiner, Bangchak Petroleum Plc (BCP) is aggressively looking for new core businesses in addition to oil refinery and retail. (Bangkok Post, 11/03/14)

Comment: The hotel management business is what has allowed this company to grow very well over the past few years, however its food business performance is rubbish! Continue reading Stocks in the news (aie, bcp, centel, global, mega, uv) 11.03.14
