CPF acquired 2.75mn shares of Norfolk at US$1.45/share for a total of Bt141mn. It expects this deal to complete in 3Q16. It expects this to be a milestone to broaden its food business in Sri Lanka and as an export base to neighbouring countries. (Khao Hoon, 15/07/16)

CPN and Central Department Stores in Bangkok have budgeted Bt100mn to hold a food festival tagged “Central Bangkok Taste of the World”. It expects this to attract 30% more tourists and bring in revenue of at least Bt500mn. (Khao Hoon, 15/07/16)
EPG
EPG expects 1QFY17 earnings growth over 15% YoY from profit of Bt287mn in FY2015 supported by more orders. It expects FY2016 revenue of Bt10-11bn. It has budgeted Bt1bn to buy machinery to enable it to expand its business to ASEAN. (Thun Hoon, 15/07/16)
ERW
ERW expects 2Q16 earnings to be good thanks to tourism recovery which has given high occupancy rates. It is budgeting Bt1.7bn to expand HOP INN in Thailand and abroad. It is confident that 2016 revenue will grow no less than 15%. (Thun Hoon, 15/07/16)

CHOW
CHOW reported 1Q16 profit growth 381.60% supported by steel business recovery and more orders. It is building a new 12MW facility in Japan and expects to be able to record revenue from at least 80MW. It has EPC backlog of ¥12bn. (Thun Hoon, 3/6/16)
Comment: perhaps one of the few companies to have made a proper concerted effort to shift from construction to alternatives
CK
CK expects to sign the Bt19.4bn contract to construct Sayaburi in 2Q16, lifting its backlog to Bt97bn. If BEM gets the Blue Line job, it expects to get a contract to build the rail network valued at Bt25bn. (Kao Hoon, 3/6/16)
DCORP
DCORP bought 40% in a solar power plant in the Philippines from two companies. The plant has capacity of 320MW. It expects to spend no more than US$15.36mn. It expects to finish the deal in July. It expects sustainable revenue and profit growth. (Thun Hoon, 3/6/16)

APCO sets 2016 sales target at Bt450 or growth of at least 10% and maintain gross margin at no less than 85%. It will focus on the domestic market. Comment: We said back in 2014 that this company was trading at ridiculous valuations and even though the price is off by some 40%, I still think it’s incredibly expensive.

AS
AS sets 2016 revenue target growth at 30%, supported by launch of 24 new games and adding games on mobile to reach 30% of all revenue. It expects 2016 earnings will turn around. (Thun Hoon, 25/03/16)
Comment: I do wonder if they can actually do it…we’ve been waiting for a number of years and perhaps its finally time.

BJC
BJC is leading the pack. After it acquires BIGC it will be the biggest retailer in ASEAN. It targets 2016 revenue growth at 10% supported by sales from abroad. It has budgeted Bt4.5bn to expand capacity both inside and outside Thailand. It is confident that its tender offer will proceed as planned. (Thun Hoon, 25/03/16)
Comment: They own retail in Thailand, they have metro in Vietnam, so I fully expect to see expansions into Laos and Cambodia.

Comment: They’ve come out saying a few times that they want to diversify away from being a project based company, and if the government is really adamant on these data centers then it just sounds like another great cash flow for those that are able to win these contracts

FPI targets 2016 revenue growth of 10% as the auto sector bottoms out. Its backlog is Bt600mn. It expects Bt300mn to be booked this year. It is talking to a partner to expand to India. (Khao Hoon, 25/02/16)

GFPT

Comment: Well they have benefited from lower raw mat costs, the only question here is will the domestic price of chicken increase?

GLOW
GLOW’s board approved investing in Vietnam and Malaysia. Its 2015 net profit is Bt8.35bn. It will pay a dividend of Bt4.36/share, XD on April 29, PD on May 26. (Khao Hoon, 25/02/16)

Comment: Perhaps instead of me mocking ABC continuously I should be supportive of these entrepreneurial projects that the company is undertaking from solar, to condominiums, to hotels, to internet services and now a Pet world…

AIT
AIT reported net profit of Bt532.5mn in 2015. The decrease in net profit is due to customers delaying their investment in IT. The board has approved a dividend of Bt1.5 on 2H15. It targets revenue growth of 10% supported by ICT industry recovery. (Khao Hoon, 18/2/16)
Comment: The whole industry suffered last year, mainly b/c of the lack of action by the government.

BSM
BSM negotiating with partner to invest in a new big project. The progress in the JV with a partner in Australia will be clear in 2Q16. It expects revenue in 2016 of Bt700mn supported by exports. (Thun Hoon, 18/2/16)
Comment: I have always liked this company but never cared for its valuation…

DRT
DRT sets revenue target at Bt4.2bn or growth of 5% in 2016 supported by exports. It plans to increase revenue in CLMV+I. The company plans to sell its products to property developers in Myanmar and Cambodia. (Khao Hoon, 18/2/16)
Comment: I still have doubts on their ability to grow, a value trap potentially if one isn’t careful..

Comment: The expansion to Japan is will begin full contribution next year, and I am curious to see how the Thai firms GUNKUL and CHOW deal with the currency fluctuation.

Comment: AIT – once a darling, it’s being hurt along with anyone else that relies upon government projects for their revenues, but it doesn’t change the fact that once the government becomes operational AIT will be a major beneficiary given the continued investment in IT by Thailand.

BEAUTY
BEAUTY expects 2Q15 earnings of Bt61mn. Its CEO says 2015 revenue will achieve 20% target growth backed by high demand locally and overseas. (Thun Hoon, 10/08/15)

CSS
