Comment: Quite the drop in backlog for GUNKUL but because they already have invested and built/are completing their projects I don’t think management quite cares to focus on new projects .
 
JWD
JWD and JB TRADING are setting up a JV to develop a warehouse in Laos which has area of 3,200sqm and total cost of Bt75mn. It expects to finish and book revenue in 2017. (Kao Hoon, 25/5/16)

BR expects 2016 net profit to be better than 2015’s Bt550mn. It targets revenue to grow 10-15%. It has budgeted Bt1.2bn to invest in slaughterhouse, ready-to-eat food production, and farm expansion. Comment: It does seem to be a recovery year for every food related company, chicken, pork, tuna you name it.
BTS
BTS is budgeting Bt100bn to take part in MRT bids (Yellow and Pink lines). It has budgeted Bt750mn to purchase shares from Line Biz Plus via its subsidiary (RabbitPay). It expects this to be completed by Apr 25. It expects this to support electronic and online payment. (Thun Hoon, 01/04/16)
Comment: Their expansion with Line has me incredibly excited. If they play their cards right they could become the first major online payment platform in Thailand
EFORL
EFORL targets 2016 revenue of Bt5bn with net profit margin of 10%. It expects this to be mainly driven by being a distributor of medical instruments and apparatus and health and beauty business. It is budgeting Bt100mn to open 20 more Wutthisak clinics in Thailand. It plans to expand to CLMV. (Khao Hoon, 01/04/16)

KCM
KCM is talking to a Chinese partner about importing solar cells. It expects this to generate Bt50-100mn revenue. It plans to set up a steel rolling mill in Cambodia. Comment: A weakening thai baht is +ve for all of electronic manufacturers, except perhaps SVI as the majority of their customers are based in Europe (albeit Scandinavia)

CCP
CCP expects 2H15 earnings to be good after the rainy season has passed. It plans to expand to neighboring countries as it
has got order from Cambodia. It backlog is Bt2.3bn. It plans to take part in Bt1bn biddings of which 50% is expected to be awarded. (Thun Hoon, 11/11/15)
Comment: It appears for CCP that a lot of the potential future projects have already been priced in for quite a while

CHOW
CHOW expects 3Q15 earnings to grow 1200%YoY on the back of revenue from construction and power business. BA expects 2016 revenue to grow 10-15% to a record high net profit. It plans to open two routes to Vietnam. It is talking to three prospective partners. 2015 cabin factor is 68-69% which is lower than expected, affected by the economic crisis in Europe. (Khao Hoon, 19/10/15)
Comment: BA’s value as a business is still effectively it’s control over Samui and we’re still waiting to see if they can truly become a regional airline, in addition to this they still have that huge stake in BDMS

BIG
BIG expects 2015 revenue to grow not less than 10% backed by growth in demand for mirrorless cameras. It maintains its targets of 10% revenue growth and 20% gross margin next year. It expects to pay dividend if shareholders approve a restructuring plan to reduce capital. (Thun Hoon, 19/10/15)
Comment: With mobile phones now replacing (or for a while already) replacing cameras I do doubt the long term viability of this company

COM7
COM7 expects 4Q15 earnings to mark a record high on the back of launching iPhone 6S and iPhone 6s Plus. It expects exports to increase aided by seasonality. It plans to invest in new business for risk diversification. (Thun Hoon, 19/10/15)

Comment: Despite the quality of its projects, the stock is rather expensively valued.
BECL/BMCL
BECL expects the cabinet will okay the merger with BMCL in October. It expects BEM (Bangkok Expressway and Metro Plc) will begin to trade in January 2016. (Khao Hoon, 30/09/15)
Comment: There’s nothing new here in terms of stories nor valuation, in the end its a good move for CK to not have to inject additional capital into BMCL
CHOW
CHOW has done a JV with BCP to invest in a 50MW solar power plant in Japan. It will invest no more than Bt380mn. (Khao Hoon, 30/09/15)
DRT
DRT expects sales to peak in 2016 although 2015 sales may be hurt by the economic slowdown. It plans to expand abroad. It targets exports to comprise 30% of revenue within three years. It expects to benefit from the government’s stimulus. (Thun Hoon, 30/09/15)
Comment: That’s rather ambitious by DRT, unless the Thai portion of the business is going to collapse.

Comment: Perhaps more of a regional play at the moment, without a doubt the Chinese are the largest investors in Vietnam

BIG
BIG reported 2Q15 earnings of Bt70.8mn. It expects revenue and net profit to grow steadily. It plans to launch a marketing campaign to boost sales. It is confident 2015 revenue will achieve its target growth of 10%. (Khao Hoon, 13/08/15)
