GL partners with True Money. GL is forecasting a major boost to its already flourishing business in Cambodia through a new partnership with True Money, a mobile-payment subsidiary of True Corp in Thailand, that will significantly increase the sales of GL’s financial services via True Money’s extensive network of about 5,000 agents spread out nationwide in Cambodia. Comment: That’s a clever move by both parties. GL still has its monopoly in Cambodia for motorcycle leasing for another 3-4 years and barring a crash in that economy they’ll continue to dominate, the question is only how much are you willing to pay for this

BANPU has set its five year investment plan at US$557mn, with a focus on the power business. It expects net profit to return to the black this year with an EBITDA of US$500mn. It plans to implement cost control as well as improve production and logistics efficiency. It expects coal price to be better in 2H16 and for the coal business to contribute revenue of US$2.2bn. CHOW

GL
GL got the license from OJK (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan) to provide financial services in Indonesia. It expects this to boost its sales and net profit. (Khao Hoon, 13/07/16)
Comment: We doubt that they’ll be as successful in Indonesia as they were in Cambodia, but this is still great nonetheless
 
GUNKUL
GUNKUL expects 2016 revenue to grow 30% from 2015’s Bt4.87bn. It does not worry about 2Q16 performance as it expects LED business to contribute revenue. It expects revenue to reach Bt300-400mn this year. It expects to take part in many alternative energy projects. (Thun Hoon, 13/07/16)

ILINK expects to take part in four project bids, valued at Bt7bn. It expects the bid winners to be announced this year. It expects a Bt2.5bn MEA project to put up for bid on July 21. It expects to get all four projects. (Khao Hoon, 13/07/16)

EA says solar farm at Phitsanulok supplies more than 693,000units of electricity. Its capacity is 278MW. It expects 126MW wind power to operate in 3Q16. (Khao Hoon, 20/06/16)
JMT
JMT expects to show net profit in 2Q16 from 1Q16 net loss of Bt15mn after extending the booking period to 10 years for acquiring debt. It plans to acquire Bt20bn bad debt from financial institutions. The board of directors of Airports of Thailand’s (AOT) yesterday approved the master plan for the development of Chiang Mai airport. The project will be carried out in two phases. The first, set for 2016 to 2025, is aimed at boosting the airport’s passenger capacity to serve 18 million travelers a year. In the second phase, from 2026 to 2030, the capacity will be further increased to serve 20 million passengers per year, of which 8 million will be international passengers and 12 million domestic travelers. Comment: And the monopoly will continue growing, interesting fact learnt last night, Thailand has ~30-40 mn visitors p.a., Spain has ~70mn.

EGCO expects to book revenue from Khanom power plant unit 4 in 3Q16 and expects to start commercial operations on June 19, 2016. The Chaiyaphum wind farm is expected to start up in late 2016. Comment: But the driver is still going to be the shift from metal based materials on automotives to plastic based. 
 
FN

GOLD expects 2Q16 to be good supported by property tax incentives. It expects 2016 revenue will hit its target of Bt9.7bn supported by more demand. It plans to build a condo and open 12 new projects. This will increase its backlog from Bt4bn. (Thun Hoon, 26/5/16)
Comment: Their issue, just as we have already seen with PS, is that there is a certain limitation to how far a property company can grow in Thailand as Bangkok is the only real targetable market.
 
GUNKUL
GUNKUL plans to acquire a company that has a solar farm PPA. It expects to get 150MW this year. It expects more revenue in 2H16. It plans to increase its revenue target of Bt5.8bn in 3Q16. (Thun Hoon, 26/5/16)

GLOBAL
GLOBAL reported net profit of Bt451mn or growth of 108% due to increasing sales and higher gross profit. It is confident that 2016 revenue will grow no less than 10%. It plans to open 12 new branches, three in June. It plans to invest in Myanmar and Cambodia. (Kao Hoon, 12/5/16)

Comment: Arguably this is the last decent quarter that developers may show profit wise for the year, although given that pre-sale launches were minimal over the past 2 years since the coup, some are betting that we’ll begin to see huge presale #’s this year.
