Comment: It will be interesting to see the outcome of the government project work. Plus Areeya still has that leasehold project on Rajadamri.
 
CPF
CPF maintains its 2016 sales growth target of 10% and expects 2Q16 earnings to be good; it expects to report in early August. It plans to acquire businesses in the UK, Europe, US and Russia. Recently, it opened its first “MAGNET” in Chiang Mai and expects to expand to four branches this year. (Kao Hoon, 20/07/16)
EA
EA expects 2Q16 profit of Bt1bn or growth of 32%, supported by booking profit from 278MW solar farm and startup of 126MW wind energy in 2H16. This will lift 2016 profit to over Bt4bn. (Kao Hoon, 20/07/16)
Comment: There’s nothing new here except them bringing their projects online. I do wonder at what point will we see a renewable energy fund similar to a REIT?
 
GENCO
GENCO is setting up two subsidiaries to support future renewable energy business in the future. It plans to bid for and take over power plants. It expects 2Q16 earnings to be outstanding and 2016 to be a new high. (Thun Hoon, 20/07/16)
IHL

BKD’s capital increase shares of 146mn will trade today. Institutional investors are interested in its shares because of its strong financial position with Bt1bn cash on hand. It plans to take part in Bt3bn in bids, with bid winners expected to be announced in mid-2016. It expects this to bump up 2016 revenue growth by 20%. (Khao Hoon, 15/03/16)

GOLD
GOLD plans to expand its business to condominiums. It expects 1H16 sales to reach Bt7bn (30% growth) compared to 1H15’s Bt5.4bn, thanks to high demand generated by tax incentives. It is confident 2016 revenue will hit Bt10bn as targeted. (Thun Hoon, 15/03/16)

IEC
IEC’s board has approved increasing capital by 73,639mn shares, to be offered as a PP of 32,960 mn shares with 40,679mn shares for the exercise of its warrants. Its board also approved investing in new plants. (Khao Hoon, 15/03/16)

KTB
KTB expects 2016 revenue to grow 15-20% as targeted by focusing on money market and capital market clients. It will be an underwriter for Bt30bn in debentures in 1H16. It expects 2016 debentures will reach Bt80bn. (Khao Hoon, 15/03/16)
Comment: That is quite the aggressive target for a bank, unless they feel that they can really grow their non-interest income business – perhaps from the government projects, then I don’t see this possibly happening..

BEM
BEM reported 2015 net profit of Bt2.65bn supported by higher toll and fare revenue. It had total revenue of Bt13.1bn with total assets of Bt78bn. It will pay a dividend of Bt0.07/share. (Thun Hoon, 29/2/16)

Berli Jucker Plc (BJC) to buy the 58.56% stake in Big C from France-based Casino Group. TCC Group led by billionaire Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi has assigned subsidiary BJC to make the purchase, borrowing Bt220bn to finance the acquisition. (Bangkok Post, 13/2/15)
Comment: We are curious to see how shareholders of BJC react to this given that they had initially rejected Metro Vietnam at BJC’s first attempt
EASTW

Comment: Whenever I’m reading news about this company my head begins to cock to the side like a dog when it sees something confusing. IT to e-commerce to renewables to property to animal hospitals. YES! I can see the differentiating factor here so very clearly, they will launch an animal hospital (commercial) where pet’s owners can stay next door (residential), pay everything online via an ecommerce system (IT/ecommerce), where the neutering operations will be solar powered! Booyah!

ASIAN

CCP expects 2H15 earnings to be good after the rainy season has passed. It plans to expand to neighboring countries as it
