AIS asked to review plan to use Jas spectrum for its 2G customers — THE NATIONAL Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) yesterday asked Advanced Info Service (AIS)to review its plan to protect its 2G subscribers in the part related to Jas Mobile Broadband (JASMBB),citing that the existing plan could not be allowed. (The Nation, 10/3/16) AIS turns down True’s ‘hefty’ B450m payment call for 2G – Advanced Info Service (AIS) has rejected a proposal made by True Corporation for the company to pay what it terms a hefty spectrum fee payment in exchange for retaining its 2G customers on the 900-megahertz network for three months. AQUA expects its performance to improve YoY as it will start booking revenue from its solar power business in Japan. Its first solar farm in Japan will commence operation in 2Q15. AJD gets Bt300mn from issuing warrants. The company is studying setting up a subsidiary with a Chinese partner to develop a solar farm. It expects sharp net profit growth in 4Q14 as its set-top box market share is at 50%. It said the issue of 11mn set-top box coupons will push its set top box sales up to more than 3mn boxes or Bt4bn.
