Comment: It’s quite interesting that nothing is ever really spoken about the development of Southern Thailand. If you look at the numbers, Hat Yai is an important part of Thailand’s economic development.
BEAUTY

GEL
GEL plans to increase capacity to allow it to handle more jobs, both government and private. It targets increasing the portion of government jobs to 35% from 20% and is confident that 2016 revenue will reach its target of Bt1.8-2bn. GFPT
GFPT is confident that 3Q16 earnings will be good, supported by high season. It plans to increase capacity to handle more exports to Japan. It expects margin to reach 14% from 12% last year due to cost management and expects 2016 revenue growth of 2-3%. (Thun Hoon, 23/09/16)
Comment: Still the best chicken operator in the country. Question now is what will happen to chicken prices over the next 6-12 months?
GUNKUL
GUNKUL targets power plant capacity of 1,000MW in Thailand with 200MW in Japan. It is the first 100% Thai company to be granted loans by large Japanese banks of JPY11.78bn to build a solar power plant with capacity of 38.1MW; COD is expected in 1Q18. (Thun Hoon, 23/09/1 6)

Comment: This power play has continued to impress since its IPO earlier this year.

PLANB
PLANB expects 3Q16 to record a new high as it will book revenue of no less than Bt10mn from digital media in BIGC. It plans to add 60 digital media boards nationwide. It is confident that 2016 revenue will grow no less than 25%. (Thun Hoon, 06/08/16)
Comment: Its still rather incredible that this company is trading at these lofty multiples despite their failure to show the magnificent growth, then again as I tell my friends, when investing in Thailand you have to “Believe!”

QLT
QLT plans to set up a subsidiary in Myanmar and expects to expand customer base in 2H16. It expects to get more revenue from gas pipeline expansion job in the north. It has backlog of Bt300mn, with Bt180mn of this to be booked this year. (Thun Hoon, 06/08/16)

COLOR

It has set a land sales target of at least 1,000 rai this year and currently has backlog of Bt2bn, of which 90% will be realized as revenue this year. It has budgeted capex at Bt4.5bn, with 85% of that for land acquisition. It expects to list its REIT on the SET by May. Amata VN will conduct a roadshow by July and trade on the SET by yearend. Comment: The only thing to think about for AMATA this year is it’s IPO of Amata VN and a potential REIT.

CGD
CGD expects to turn around to a net profit this year backed by large backlog. It will sell Bt1.3bn in assets to a REIT in 1Q15. It also plans to invest in a riverside hotel worth Bt19bn with completion by 2018. (Thun Hoon, 24/2/15)

AQUA expects its performance to improve YoY as it will start booking revenue from its solar power business in Japan. Its first solar farm in Japan will commence operation in 2Q15. BH
BH’s shares are favored by foreign investment funds because of the high rate of return. Also, healthcare companies are of interest to global investors. (Khao Hoon, 18/02/15)

CEI plans to reduce par value to Bt0.25/share as well as increase capital via a rights offering at the ratio of 3:1 at Bt0.25/share and private placement of 95.73mn shares at not lower than 90% of market price. Management plans to focus more on renewable energy, property development and e-commerce. CEI has invested Bt80mn to acquire W. Solar shares from WIN to develop solar rooftop project.
