GLAND came out with a massive announcement, The Super Tower, a building that will be the tallest building in ASEAN.

Details for the project are as follows:

• A height of 615 metres and 125 storeys, will stand at the Ratchadaphisek-Rama IX intersection.
• The structure will have a total area of 320,000 sq m and cost 18 billion baht to develop.
• Amenities will include 260 six-star hotel rooms, 90,000 sq m of office space and an observation deck on the top floor.
• The value of this project is THB 18 bn (note its market cap today is THB 19 bn)

Now they also have another couple projects that will be announced next year totaling THB 40bn in value (incl The Super Tower) and a REIT that will be launched next year.

I did have one negative feeling, a sense of deja vu, everytime a new skyscraper is built = economic collapse (The Economist), but at least we’re still ok until 2019.
