BPP
BPP expects 3Q18 revenue to be good. It started commercial operations of a 9.5MW solar power plant in Japan, increasing its electricity generation capacity to 2129MW.Two power plants will start commercial operations in 4Q18 with total capacity of 35MW. It is confident that electricity generation capacity will reach its target of 2164MW this year. It is looking for companies to invest with it in the energy business. (Thun Hoon, 21/9/18)
CENTEL
CENTEL signed an MOU to provide management service in three hotels. The details will be concluded soon. If it takes on these hotels, it will have 21 hotels under management. EASTW
EASTW is negotiating to supply water in Amata City industrial estate. The deal will be concluded in 4Q18. It also negotiating with four customers from which it expects to receive jobs next year. JKN
JKN says its contents are popular going by the number of customers purchasing its contents. It plans to increase ad rate in prime time to Bt0.75mn/episode/hour, boosting revenue growth by 20. It expects to close deals for sale of content in many countries. Management says it will pay a dividend of no less than 40% of earnings this year. (Kao Hoon, 21/9/18)
Comment: Here is the issue…you can’t forecast their revenues…
SABINA
Virot Thanalongkorn, major shareholder of SABINA, sold a big lot of 100mn shares, 28.78% of the company’s shares, for Bt25/share for a total of Bt2.5bn. This opens the way for Thai and foreign institutions to hold SABINA and increase free float to 48.14%. The Thanalongkorn family holds 51.86% of share still and are confident in the company’s good fundamentals and earnings. (Kao Hoon, 21/9/18)
Comment: With liquidity now no longer an issue…how far could the stock price go? Or should I point to the fact that the stock price rallied first from 25 to 35 pre this big lot sale and just say you can’t trust the shareholders here?
TAKUNI
TAKUNI subsidiary was awarded a Bt574.4mn job, raising its backlog to Bt2.8bn. Management expects growth in 2H18 and construction revenue will contribute over 60% of total revenue. It targets revenue of Bt1.94bn this year. (Thun Hoon, 21/9/18)
THAI
Thai expects to spend three months to review a purchase of 23 commercial airplanes worth Bt10bn. The purchase must be consistent with its reorganization strategy. Comment: And why would this drive the share price up 15%? It’s still a cash flow constrained and effectively a bankrupt company.
