Stocks in the news (abc, ait, bsm, drt, lhbank, sf, smpc, sprc, tasco, tipco, tsr) 18.02.16
ABC
Asset Bright is expanding its business. It is preparing to open “ABC Pet World”, the biggest pet shopping center in Thailand, hopefully in 3Q16. It sees the pet market as valuated at Bt20bn with annual growth of 10-15%. (Khao Hoon, 18/2/16)
Comment: Perhaps instead of me mocking ABC continuously I should be supportive of these entrepreneurial projects that the company is undertaking from solar, to condominiums, to hotels, to internet services and now a Pet world…
AIT
AIT reported net profit of Bt532.5mn in 2015. The decrease in net profit is due to customers delaying their investment in IT. The board has approved a dividend of Bt1.5 on 2H15. It targets revenue growth of 10% supported by ICT industry recovery. (Khao Hoon, 18/2/16)
Comment: The whole industry suffered last year, mainly b/c of the lack of action by the government.
BSM
BSM negotiating with partner to invest in a new big project. The progress in the JV with a partner in Australia will be clear in 2Q16. It expects revenue in 2016 of Bt700mn supported by exports. (Thun Hoon, 18/2/16)
Comment: I have always liked this company but never cared for its valuation…
DRT
DRT sets revenue target at Bt4.2bn or growth of 5% in 2016 supported by exports. It plans to increase revenue in CLMV+I. The company plans to sell its products to property developers in Myanmar and Cambodia. (Khao Hoon, 18/2/16)
Comment: I still have doubts on their ability to grow, a value trap potentially if one isn’t careful..
LHBANK
LHBANK looking for partner to support its business and financial trade. It expects loans to grow 10-15% in 2016 supported by a major customer after it got a government project. It plans to increase capital to maintain its Tier 1 at 10.5% to support three years of expansion. (Thun Hoon, 18/2/16)
SF
SF reported profit of Bt1.4bn, growth of 101% in 2015 due to gain from fair value adjustment. It plans to pay a dividend of Bt0.15/share, with XD before March 30 and payment on April 25. (Khao Hoon, 18/2/16)
Comment: Growth aside, what is more interesting is that perhaps for the first time in a decade the company isn’t paying an equity dividend, perhaps a positive sign?
SMPC
SMPC is confident in 15-20% rise in revenue in 2016, supported by its backlog and demand outside Thailand. (Thun Hoon, 18/2/16)
Comment: The epitome of a christmas tree chart
SPRC
SPRC reported net profit of Bt8.2bn in 2015. It will pay a dividend of Bt0.26, XD on May 9. (Khao Hoon, 18/2/16)
TASCO
TASCO reported 2015 profit of more than Bt5.1bn or growth of 323%, supported by selling more than 2.3mn tons of asphalt. It will pay a dividend of Bt0.40/share, XD on March 1 and payment on April 29. It has budgeted Bt1.7bn to push sales up 10-15%. (Thun Hoon, 18/2/16)
Comment: I haven’t been surprised by the drop from 40 to 25, think its now @ fairish valuations..
TIPCO
TIPCO expects net profit of Bt1.3bn, growth of 1,500%, in 2015 supported by subsidiary TASCO. (Khao Hoon, 18/2/16)
Comment: Without Tasco this company would be trading @ 1 baht / share given how poor the management is.
TSR
TSR plans to add at least five branches upcountry in 2016. Recently, it opened in Phitsanulok. It plans to conclude deals in Vietnam and Laos soon. (Khao Hoon, 18/2/16)
Comment: I still like what they are trying to do here. As a water company targeting consumers to provide clean water solutions…it sounds good on paper.
