ADB expects demand for plastic resin and adhesive sealant to increase in 2H18. it is developing innovative products to add a new “green product” line which is eco-friendly. EGCO denies involvement in bribery case. There have been news reports regarding an investigation of Japan’s Supreme Court of Mitsubishi Power Systems Ltd. (MHPS) for violations against antitrust law via offering bribes to Thai civil servants in relation to the unloading of equipment for Khanom Power Plant Unit 4. EGCO has notified the SET that it has no involvement in this case. (SET, 18/7/18)

GULF
GULF denies involvement in bribery case. GULF has notified the SET that news reports stating that an employee of Mitsubishi Power Systems Ltd. (MHPS) paid bribes to government officials to win a power plant construction project in Thailand in 2013 do not refer to GULF. GULF says that no power project in its group is associated with the case. (SET, 18/7/18)
Comment: So does anyone really believe that this company never paid a single bribe?
MGT
MGT is expanding its food-related chemical products to the Netherlands and Germany, boosting sales revenue to Bt1bn. Management is confident that 2H18 performance will continue to improve. It expects target sales in 2H18 to reach Bt658mn. Backlog is now at Bt100mn. (Thun Hoon, 19/7/18)

PSH plans to launch 42 projects with a total value of Bt42bn in 2H18, which it expects will boost revenue to achieve its 2018 target of Bt53.7bn. The company said transfers in 2Q18 increased YoY, supported by SDH demand growth. (Thun Hoon, 19/7/18)
PTG
PTG has started up its palm oil complex. The project is expected to generate revenue of Bt80-100mn this year and Bt240-280mn next year. It is negotiating with LPG operators for a business partnership which could be concluded by 4Q18. (Thun Hoon, 19/7/18)
Comment: 6 months later than initially expected when it was announced a few years ago. One should be wary of the initial start up costs that come with this type of project, but looks like the long-term strategy is still in place for the company.
RS
RS expects 2Q18 earnings to improve, supported by higher ratings for Channel 8 and growth in MultiPlatform Commerce (MPC). (Kao Hoon, 19/7/18)

TCAP
TCAP reported strong 2Q18 earnings of Bt2bn, +22% YoY and growth in 1H18 profit of 20.5% YoY. The company has continued to expand its customer base. Subsidiary Thani Leasing also reported strong earnings growth of 51.87% YoY in 2Q18. (Thun Hoon, 19/7/18)
Comment: I suppose that banks that don’t rely upon fee’s aren’t going to be hit as badly. Let’s see what happens when SCB’s and KBANK’s #’s come out.
TRC
TRC expects to be awarded a Bt2.7bn project in July. The project will increase its backlog to Bt10bn from Bt7.2bn currently. It is having to revise its 2018 revenue target down because of construction delays. Management confirms its plan to invest in a potash mine in Chaiyaphum province. (Thun Hoon, 19/7/18)
