Comment: Yayyy and this why they got the go ahead for the “amalgamation”  (Note: I’m catching up on Thai company news on the 17th evening on an airplane)

SEC has accused EA’s CEO Somphote Ahunai, deputy Amorn Sapthaweekul and third person Pornlert Techarattanopas of procurement fraud that earned the perpetrators $ 97m (Bt 3.5b). The procurement related to equipment & software for solar powerplant between 2013-2015 was made through 2 subsidiaries, resulting 3 people receiving benefits of Bt 3.5b. The SEC said it filed a case with Department of Special Investigation & Anti-Money Laundering Office for further legal action.

EA: CEO resigned to ensure transparency & accountability, appoint former permanent secretary MOF, Somchainuk Engtrakul to be acting CEO, reshuffle board.

Comment: Political bs….acting CEO? Taking executive director responsibilities? Is this fellow ready to take on the potential legal risks of being a director for a POS company when the banks come calling?
