2Q15 earnings expected to outperform. AKR will sign a contract for an electric transformer project worth Bt100mn with EGAT next week. AMATA
2015 net profit will be better than 2014’s Bt2.224bn, supported by two factors: booking extra gain from selling assets to AMATA Summit Growth REIT and booking profit from the IPO of its subsidiary Amata VN, scheduled to be listed in 4Q15. (Khao Hoon, 22/05/15)

Performance will turn around in 2016. It plans to set up a JV to invest in an 8MW solar power plant and expects the deal to be finalized in July. It plans to invest in Phase2 and 3 of a solar roof project. Funding for investment is not a problem because assets for sale worth Bt800mn. (Thun Hoon, 22/05/15)

CHO wins bid for 489-bus NGV project worth Bt4bn with a ten-year contract. It expects to sign the contract in May. (Khao Hoon, 22/05/15)
Comment: CHO does have an interesting business model in their manufacturing of truck bodies and trailers.

CPN
CPN sets Bt23.5bn investment budget to add new outlets and renovate old facilities. It plans to open three branches this year. It is dealing to purchase a Bt6bn department store in Phuket. CPN is confident revenue will grow 10-12% this year. (Khao Hoon, 22/05/15)

EGCO
Its 455MW coal power plant in the Philippines has been approved to sell its electricity. The power plant will operate in 1Q19. (Khao Hoon, 22/05/15)

HOTPOT
2Q15 earnings are expected to jump thanks to holidays. It will show profit this year after it closing some underperforming branches. It plans to set up a JV to expand abroad. (Thun Hoon, 22/05/15)

KTB
KTB increased its monthly reserve for bad debts, doubtful accounts and impairment losses to Bt3.6bn in April, up sharply from the previous monthly reserve of Bt700mn. (Post Today, 22/05/15)

NNCL
It will report profit in 2Q15-3Q15 due to Bt400mn in transfers. The company is dealing with a Japanese firm to invest in an industrial estate that is expected to be settled by the end of this year. Its power plant is expected to operate this year and could generate Bt200mn revenue each year. It will ask permission to invest in a second power plant. (Thun Hoon, 22/05/15)

PF
Targets 2015 revenue of Bt17.112bn aided by an uptrend of property sector in 2H15. Its backlog is Bt6.4bn but it will revise down sales target to Bt15.5bn and postpone 22 new projects. (Khao Hoon, 22/05/15)

PTTEP
PTTEP revised down its budget investment of US$4.3bn (-15%) but it confirms good earnings while it plans to acquire more businesses. (Khao Hoon, 22/05/15)

SAPPE
SAPPE targets to greatest market share due to six new health products. It expects 2017 sales of Bt5bn, backed by local and overseas markets. (Khao Hoon, 22/05/15)
Comment: I’m still not convinced by the longevity potential of SAPPE, but on a short term basis who knows what investors may think.

SIRI
SIRI to issue 5-year bond worth Bt2bn with 4.75% interest rate. It will be sold by SCB between May 20-29. The funds will be used for its 2015 business plan and business expansion. (Khao Hoon, 22/05/15)

SORKON
Plans to expand into halal market by offering processed food from fish and chicken. Its new plant is ready for test-run in 3Q15. 2015 revenue is expected to grow 15%, benefitting from Muslim countries in the Middle East. (Khao Hoon, 22/05/15)
Comment: I’ve always loved this company, the new plant has been delayed for 1 year but now they are essentially doubling their fish capacity

SPALI
Plans to expand its market to single detached house/town home by opening a new project at Lam Luk Ka Klong4, worth Bt550mn. SPALI will launch this project on May 30-31. (Thun Hoon, 22/05/15)

SPCG
2Q15 earnings to be better than 1Q14’s Bt1bn supported by booking revenue from 26MW power plant. 2015 revenue is estimated at Bt5bn. SPCG got the license for a 800MW solar farm from the government. The deal for power plant investment in Philippines is expected to be finalized in 4Q15. (Thun Hoon, 22/05/15)

TTCL
Backlog at new high of Bt100bn supported by new projects. It expects to get a job from a petrochemical firm worth US$50mn next month. In 2H15 there is an EPC project in Malaysia and project in Vietnam worth than US$400mn. It is confident 2015 revenue will reach Bt20bn. It targets net profit of Bt2.5bn (400% growth) in five years. WHA
WHA signs MoU with NTT Facilities, an expert system and data center management firm from Japan to set up a company. WHA will become the major shareholder but the amount to be invested has not been decided. It is expected to be finalized this year. (Post Today, 22/05/15)

WIIK
WIIK expects to get new project worth Bt500mn that will increase its backlog from Bt700mn. 2015 is expected to show a net profit after 2014’s loss of Bt6.27mn backed by backlog and cost control. WIIK will be XW on June 9. (Thun Hoon, 22/05/15)

    • Listening to brokers will seriously hamper your profits mate.

      Half of them actively promote garbage stocks for the sole reason that they underwrote them.

      • As much as I do love to throw a lot of crap towards brokers, I do always put in the caveat that it’s their business model to not look further out than 3-6 months down the line because its dominated by commissions.
