Comment: Who wants to fly BA? No one, its full of old white aunties that give you the worst service. But ok this is a good sign for the continued improvement in tourism to/from Thailand.
BAY target corporate loans & IB +4-6% yoy, sees positive momentum in energy, F&B and healthcare, expects private investment pick up from 2Q on the back of government budget disbursement.
BGRIM: Close a big deal of wind farm in South Korea, 740MW, generating annual profit of 1.4 billion baht. The CEO sees higher demand of electricity. With existing portfolio of 5 projects producing 1,770 megawatts, profits will be realized during 2023-2026.
Comment: They first mentioned this wind farm in South Korea (in private)…some…8 years ago. Just goes to show how far in advance these deals are made.
CENTEL brings global portfolio of 95 hotels & resorts in 12 countries under 6 brands to participate in ITB Berlin travel trade this week, new resort Centara Life Lamai Samui set to open in July, 2 flagship properties Centara Karon Resort Phuket & Centara Grand Mirage beach resort Pattaya will be fully renovated by end of FY24.
Comment: In terms of management & team and execution capability, the perception now is that CENTEL > MINT.
CPALL upbeats 1Q earnings from robust traffic thru 7-11, higher contribution from 7Delivery & All Online, mulls adding 700 branch locally this year and new stores in Cambodia from current 82 branches as well as Laos from current 3 stores, improved product mix to boost margin.
Comment: You’re going to be surprised by well 7-11 is performing. Tourism is rocking and rolling and they’re still going to dominate the region. BUT, CP dumped all their debt into the CPALL listco and now 7-11’s amazing cashflow generating abilities will have to pay off all those highly priced acquisitions.
CPN’s Bt8.2b mixed-use project, Central Nakhonpathom, comprise of 200 guest rooms hotel, 6.9k sq.m. mall, residential property & leisure park on track to cod on Mar 30, lifts total 41 malls across country.
Comment: The only group capable of doing a profitable mixed-use project in Thailand
