BGC
BGC has budgeted Bt5bn to acquire companies at home and abroad. It plans to acquire a packaging company in Vietnam, adding to its production capacity. It has no plan to set up factories by itself in order to avoid heavy cost. It has invested in the construction materials business, and it will list this company on the SET. KTIS
KTIS expects its biomass business to contribute more than 25% of total revenue this year. Bagasse packaging business, its main business, continues to grow, supported by the environmental conservation trend. (Kao Hoon, 25/1/19)
SAMTEL
SAMTEL got IT system setup and development jobs from SME Bank valued at Bt579mn. (Kao Hoon, 25/1/19)
Comment: The entire government IT-related sector has been hurt under the military government with little to no spending despite the budgets that are in place.
SELIC
SELIC plans to launch a new product with focus on sticker manufacturers. Management expects revenue to be a record high at Bt1.5bn. Margin is expected to widen. It will export more to bring the proportion of revenue from exports to 30%. It believes the adhesives industry will grow by 5% this year. (Thun Hoon, 25/1/19)
SMART
SMART expects earnings to turn around after 9M18 loss of Bt20mn. It expects the EEC and the election to boost sales of autoclaved aerated lightweight concrete blocks to a growth of 10% this year. It is studying exporting. (Thun Hoon, 25/1/19)
TPCH
TPCH has bid for the 20MW Onnuch waste power plant. As for the 8MW Nonthaburi waste power plant, it is waiting for the PPA announcement, expected this year. It expects three biomass power plants with total electricity production capacity of 40MW to be up and running by the year’s end. It expects total electricity production capacity to reach target of 200MW next year. (Thun Hoon, 25/1/19)
Comment: Perhaps they have a chance here for both events.
TPOLY
TPOLY was awarded jobs with total value of Bt4.8bn this year, above its target of Bt3.30bn. Current backlog is Bt8.2bn, of which Bt4.2bn will be booked as revenue this year. It expects revenue to be a record high and will maintain profit margin at 10%. It expects jobs to increase by 10% this year from construction of schools and hospitals around the border.
