BEM
BEM believes it will win its bid to manage commercial area, beginning next year, for the Purple Line stations at Bang Yai – Tao Poon. The beginning of its operation for one additional connecting station on August 11 should boost ridership. (Kao Hoon, 7/8/2017)
Comment: Basically yes, at least the government/BMA finally decided to connect the purple line to the rest of the network. There’s no reason to see why BTS would win the commercial area for stations which BEM operates and vice versa..I do wonder if in the future we’ll see a third un-related party come in to bid for these locations?
BRRGIF
BRRGIF begins its first trading day today. It expects steady revenue flow from selling of electricity to PEA allowing it to pay a steady dividend twice a year. (Thun Hoon, 7/8/2017)
Comment: A decent pop on its first day for this, wouldn’t be surprised to see other sugar co’s do the same.
GLOBAL
GLOBAL expects its revenue to grow 5-10% in 2Q17, bringing full-year growth to 8%. It expects to open 3 more branches in 2H17. It plans to expand new branches in Vietnam in 1Q18. (Kao Hoon, 7/8/2017)
KTC
KTC plans to beef up ‘Fintech’ capabilities to better serve its customers, expecting a more solid plan by 4Q17. It also increases investment budget to improve its solution services to gain competitive edge in the future. (Thun Hoon, 7/8/2017)
Comment: I don’t think that KTC will be hurt as much as some think from the new BOT credit card restrictions
LHBANK
LHBANK announced a successful deal with a giant bank from Taiwan, CTBC Bank, which now holds 35.617% in LHBANK. This should improve its competitiveness. (Thun Hoon, 7/8/2017)
Comment: Finally it’s done!
PPS
PPS expects a good 2Q17 earnings result, backing by revenue from Suvarnabhumi Airport expansion and a condominium project. It expects revenue growth of 20-30% this year. It will join the bidding for dual-track and high-speed train projects. (Kao Hoon, 7/8/2017)
Comment: It’s an accounting game, similar to any other project business they recognise the bulk of their revenue/earnings when a project is completed.
PYLON
2Q17 earnings is expected to increase by Bt45mn, +47%YoY from the previous year. Its backlog is estimated to be around Bt482mn. (Kao Hoon, 7/8/2017)

Comment: I still think that the bad loan business is a great place to be, tonnes of supply coming onto the market, firms like SAWAD and JMT will be able to bid low prices.
SC
SC announces a plan to launch nine new low-rise projects in 2H17, worth Bt11.4bn. It will also acquire new land plots worth Bt9bn for future projects covering the next three years. (Thun Hoon, 7/8/2017)
SPA
SPA signals growing 2Q17 earnings. It will release earnings after its board meeting on Aug 11. This year, it will add 10 branches and clarify an overseas expansion plan. It is sure revenue will grow at least 30% this year. (Kao Hoon, 7/8/2017)

STANLY
STANLY reported 1QFY18 earnings of Bt295.54mn +21.47%YoY from Bt243.30mn. (Kao Hoon, 7/8/2017)
