CENTEL expects flat performance in 2Q14 from 1Q14. Although this is its low season, it expects bookings to recover. Net margin for each business is expected to expand. It is confident that total revenue will reach target of Bt19bn. (Tun Hoon, 16/06/14)

Comment: CENTEL still a 2nd rate version of MINT, its food business is awful with constant negative SSS on average, but the hotel business is doing very well, and like every other hotelier, they will recover over the next few months without an issue.

KBS

KBS expects 2Q14 profit to exceed Bt265mn supported by electricity sales. It believes sugar prices have passed bottom. It expects revenue this year to achieve its target of Bt6bn, supported by strong sales and the electricity business. (Tun Hoon, 16/06/14)

Comment: KBS and KSL are both expected to do well with sugar prices recovering and the story for all sugar players is usually the same, they have a sugar plant then build a biomass plant.

PJW sets powder coating line in Pinthong Industrial Estate in Chonburi province. It expects to get Bt200mn in sales. Management said sales are expected to reach Bt0.8-1bn within five years and that revenues over the next three years will grow by 10-15%. (Khao Hoon, 16/06/14)

Comment: There’s a continued cull amongst all the “state-owned enterprises”, AOT first, now PTT, is THAI next?

SAMART

SAMART negotiating to buy SIM shares from Axiata Group and is confident that its business will be not affected by a change in shareholders. (Khao Hoon, 16/06/14)

Comment: SIM’s stock price dived last week, I’m of the opinion that their smartphone sales growth levels are going to decline considerable over the next few quarters  

SOLAR

Capacity increase on the cards — Solartron plans to increase its annual solar panel capacity from 120MW to 190MW by 2015 to accommodate more orders valued at Bt2-3bn, which would be delivered in the next two years. Management reaffirmed that the solar rooftop projects would increase market value of solar panel domestically by 30% and the company is aiming to expand its business to AEC. (Khao Hoon, 16/06/14)

Comment: As of the time of writing, up 14% on its first day of trading, every IPO in Thailand is doing incredibly well this year.

TICON

TICON hopes for recovery in the 2H14 with the political situation stabilized. It expects net profit this year of Bt1.55bn. (Khao Hoon, 16/06/14)

UAC

UAC targets market cap of Bt10bn with revenues of Bt3bn within three years. It expects the alternative energy business to help support growth. It says it plans to move from mai to the SET. (Khao Hoon, 16/06/14)
