DTAC hopes to pay out dividend again at Bt1.60/unit in 1Q14 after clearing its accumulated losses of Bt15.9bn. It expects revenues for 1Q14 to touch Bt24bn with net profit at Bt2.85bn, and 2014 net profit estimated at Bt12.2bn. (Khao Hoon, 03/04/14)

EASON

EASON will be investing abroad and aims to open its new factory and office in Indonesia in 3Q14 and open its Malaysian sales office soon. One of its subsidiary plans to increase its capital to invest more in the filter business. However, EASON said that revenue this year may be less than last year. (Khao Hoon, 03/04/14)

Comment: If you stop and analyse the numbers of the top 100 companies on the SET, you’ll see the a lot of them generate a substantial amount of their earnings overseas already, just another reason why this market is damn resilient.

ERW

Erawan cuts H1 outlook 25%- The Erawan Group (ERW), the SET-listed hotel and plaza developer, projected its revenue in the first half of this year would be lower than last year as half of its hotels have been affected by the political turmoil. (Bangkok Post, 03/04/14)

Comment: No doubt about this, but the value here is their assets.

INTUCH

InTouch earmarks B1bn for three-year digital expansion – InTouch Plc, formerly known as Shin Corp, plans to spend Bt1bn over the next three years building its own digital broadcasting facility for delivering content through various digital communications platforms. (Bangkok Post, 03/04/14)

KASET

KASET targets 2014 revenue at Bt1.3bn, up 20% YoY, and a turnaround in its profits. It has redesigned its rice packaging bags and plans to invest Bt30mn in advertisement to help spur sales. It plans to expand more into the retail segment and industrial customers. Sales for rice bags are estimated to grow by 5-10% this year. (Khao Hoon, 03/04/14)

Comment: Amongst the top 3 sugar producers in Thailand, this IPO has been planned for 2 years now.

MAJOR

MAJOR says 2014 revenue will hit its target growth of 10% although revenue for 1Q14 is expected to fall short of the 10% target due to no exciting movies. It expects movie ticket sales this year to grow by more than 10% and it plans to invest Bt800mn to expand the number of theaters and renovate and improving existing facilities. (Khao Hoon, 03/04/14)

Comment: Doesn’t MAJOR always say that they’ll grow 10% a year?

NOK

Nok Air orders two more NextGens – Nok Air has placed firm orders for two more turboprop aircraft with Canada’s Bombardier as it quickens the establishment of a regional network following its break-up with Siam General Aviation (SGA). (Bangkok Post, 03/04/14)

Comment: Argh, bad bad bad for the numbers.
