KDH VN: has decided to dissolve two of its subsidiaries (Long Phuoc Dien Housing Development and Infrastructure Construction Co., Ltd. and Nam Phu Real Estate Development Co., Ltd), totaling VND240 bn in charter capital.

SAB VN: announced a public offer to buy over 37.8 mn shares (43.2%) of SBB with the deal estimated at VND832 bn, aiming to increase its stake from 16.4% to 59.6%.

VIC VN: has launched VinVentures, a $150 mn fund to support innovative tech startups, aiming to boost the startup ecosystem and foster digital technology companies in Vietnam and beyond.

Comment: Hmmm……They have done well with several of their PE/pre-IPO deals, but this is a different beast…let’s see

VHM VN: has acquired over 41 mn shares buyback, totaling about VND 1,871 bn, which is 11.16% of its registered buyback volume.

Comment: Their revenues and profits are down -20-30% this year. The shares aren’t “cheap” and their debt maturity is 1.9 years. It’ll be amusing to watch….

Country

  • The HCMC government is trying to boost public investment disbursement, with VND32.7 tn to be disbursed for 84 projects in Q42024.
  • Vietnam’s agricultural trade reported a surplus across forestry, fishery, and agriculture, with forestry leading at $11.75 bn. However, production inputs, livestock products, and salt experienced trade deficits. Overall, Vietnam’s agricultural exports reached $51.74 bn (+ 20.2%) in 10M2024.
  • Vietnamese spend $8.9 bn on ecommerce. The total transaction volume in the Jan-Sep period increased by 37.7% yoy.
  • The association reported that in the 2023-24 crop from October 2023 to September 2024, Viet Nam shipped abroad 1.46 mn tonnes of coffee worth US$5.43 bn, -12.1 % in volume but + 33 % in value compared to the previous crop.
  • Vietnam and the European Union (EU) have built a strong, multifaceted partnership encompassing economic cooperation, climate change adaptation, and regional integration.
