Stocks in the news VN (dgw.vn, gmd.vn, mwg.vn, nlg.vn, shg.vn) 22.02.22
Given that I’ve been rather active in Vietnam for the past 6 years, I think it’ll be an interesting exercise for me to include a SITN for news from VN companies. As with the Thai ones, it’ll keep me on my toes, and perhaps you’ll get something out of it.
{DGW VN} has approved to issue 2.2mn ESOP shares at the price of VND10,000/share. Such shares will be subject to a 1 year lock-up. Expected time will be 1Q22.
Comment: VN’s COM7, and rocking and rolling.
{GMD VN} Mrs. Hoang Thi Thanh, mother of Vice CEO Do Cong Khanh, registered to buy 100k GMD shares via order matching and/or block trade methods from Feb 23 to Mar 22. If successful, her stake would be increased from 0.35% to 0.38% (1.16mn shares)
Comment: Mother knows best, love the story here, can’t see why profits aren’t 3x higher over the next 3-4 years with the new port capacity coming online.
{MWG VN} For Jan 2022, MWG set a new record with over VND16trl of net revenue and VND2.3trl of online sales. For FY22, co. targets net revenue of VND140trl (+14% YoY) and PAT of VND6.35trl (+30% YoY)
Comment: Considered to be the gold standard for playing retail in VN for the past decade, management team has been straightfwd and execution driven since I first met them a decade ago.
{NLG VN} CFO Chau Quang Phuc bought 300k NLG shares via order matching and block trade methods from Jan 24 to Feb 17, thus increasing his stake from 214,348 shares to 514,348 shares.
Comment: A township developer with 2 main projects that are transferring well.
{SHB VN} 522.39mn SHB shares, which were previously issued via public offering, will be available for trading on Mar 08. Additionally, another 16.77mn shares, which were issued via the same method, will be available for trading on Dec 23.
Comment: You’ll notice in VN that companies are incredibly active in public offerings/raising equity etc etc.

Thank you for adding VN updates!

🙂
A simple company news summary isn’t easy to come across, most of the time, its just registration of share buy/sells which is rather boring…

Interesting. I have been using VNH:LON to invest in Vietnam. If you intend to continue your cover I shall think about direct investment. Thanks.
