I was asked where Thailand’s new SEZ (Special Economic Zones) are and the military has earmarked 5 potential border areas.

The meeting has agreed on the 5 potential border areas to be developed as Thailand’s first special economic zones, which were Mae Sot, Aranyaprathet, Trat, Mukdahan and Sadao (Sadao-Padang Besar Customs Checkpoints).

Going forward there are supposed to be another 7 (for a total of 12) and all in all this bodes well for continuing border trade between Thailand and its neighbours.
